October 3 Member Meeting
-Please look out for an email from your committee officer sometime this week in preparation for the internal competition.
-Essentially, the IMA is hosting a career preparation meeting (mock interviews, resume review, etc) on October 8th from 9am-12pm. There is an RSVP link at the bottom of the flyer. Please RSVP by Wednesday, October 5.

Community Service: Proctoring: For those of you that have proctored so far please email Ally at firstname.lastname@example.org saying that you were there so you can get the hours!
Pumpkin Palooza: Pumpkin Palooza at Victorian Square in sparks is going to be our next community service event this month! Yay! This event requires individuals to sign up at https://pumpkinpalooza.org/volunteer/ and then click the "here" link. This will then bring you to a page where you can individually sign up for different activities and times. So, to provide the opportunity to pick your own time and activity you prefer try and find a Beta Alpha Psi buddy and sign up a for a time slot together. Spots are filling up fast so sign up quick. Lastly, sign up on Eventbrite and right next to where you write your name just write the shift you signed up for so I can count for those hours.
Social: Becker Game Night is next week! The event is October 11th, from 7:30-9:30PM in the great room at the Joe. Enjoy games, food, and cocktails! If you have any fun games to bring or play, please let Alexa know! We want it to be a fun and stress-free evening!
In addition, tonight is the last night to sign up for intramural soccer! We would prefer 1 more girl to meet rules!
Public Relations: Attached is the sign up sheet for the Committees! If you have not signed up for a committee, you will be highlighted in red! We need to keep an even distribution between committees, but please select based on the position you would be most interested in helping. Committees who would like more members include Professional Events, Membership, President, Public Relations, Treasurer, and Community Service! Your selection will be due by Wednesday, October 5th- at this time I will have to place members who have not selected an option, into a committee so that officers can begin planning for the internal competition.

Happy Meet The Firms week! First reminder, we have a member meeting on Wednesday, September 21st at 5:00pm in FH 207.
Treasurer: Dues will be collected Wednesday at the member meeting, and Friday at Meet the Firms, in the form of cash or check. ($95 for candidates, $40 for returning members)
Membership: Please bring a $5 deposit to the member meeting for nametags if you would like to use one! If it's returned at the end of the semester, you will get your deposit back.
Professional Activities: We have 3 professional events within the next week: A Grant Thornton Lunch, an Albright Lunch, and the Grant Thornton Firm Tour. Any individuals with dietary restrictions need to contact Nicole email@example.com so we can make accommodations going forward.
Community Service: Our JA leader Ila has provided a really great and fun opportunity to let us help fundraise for Junior Achievement It is about $100 dollars a teaching packet! Please help volunteer at this event as it would really mean something for JA.

Friday November 4th - 9:00 am - Noon (set-up) & 5:30 - 7:30 (silent auction and tear down).
Location: Peppermill Hotel & Casino - Tuscany Ballroom. Volunteers can come for one or both shifts.
Let me know who will be volunteering that night and shirt (argyle sweater vest:) size as soon as possible. Thank you!!!!

Proctoring: We need at least one more person to sign up for Professor Brooks ACC 201 class at 11am and one more person for Professor Jackson's class at 8am!
Don't forget about the first tutoring session we have coming up on Sunday, September 25 at 7pm in WRB 2006! Its a combined sections for 3 classes so we need as many BAP people to help!
Social Activities: Just a reminder that soccer intramural sign ups are available for all members. Please sign up as soon as possible, so we know if we will have a team by the deadline. Professional Events: The deadline for Resume Submission has been extended to Tuesday, September 13th by Midnight! Please send your resume ASAP to Chase White at email@example.com. In addition, if you could send it as a PDF, that would be helpful!
Professional Activities: The J.A. Solari Firm Tour is on Friday, September 16th from 4-6pm and the Bosma Group Lunch is on Monday, September 19th from 12-1pm in AB 110. Please RSVP on Eventbrite! (Also, I will be forwarding another email regarding employment with Deloitte if anyone is interested!)
Membership: This is the last week of recruitment! Tomorrow Tuesday, September 13th from 12-1pm with be the Prepare for Meet the Firms in the JCSU Senate Chambers (counts for 1 professional hour). Tomorrow night Tuesday, September 13th from 5:30-6:30pm will be the Give Back, Get Back featuring Junior Achievement in JCSU 320 (counts for 1 community service hour).
Treasurer: Membership dues are due at the member meeting on September 21st, and at Meet the Firms. Dues have to be in before participating in Meet the Firms!
Social Activities: Alexa has created an outdoor soccer team for those who still want to participate in intramural sports. The three divisions are beginner, intermediate, and advanced. We are in the beginner division, so please do not let fear of playing deter you from joining! All members are welcome and encouraged to join. Our team has been created for Wednesday nights, under that division. Please create a profile and join as soon as possible. The team name is Beta Alpha Psi. You will have to take a quiz to join, but the answers to the quiz are given in a document before you start the quiz.
All members who join must split the cost of $175 to create the team. The more members that join, the less each of us has to pay!

President: We have our first member meeting of Fall 2016 tomorrow Wednesday, September 7th at 12:00-12:50 pm in AB201.
If any member is unable to make a member meeting, please fill out this Meeting Absentee Form.
Reporter: Remember to get your professional and community service hours! To be in good standing, everyone needs eight hours in both categories. Three of the community service hours need to be from tutoring or proctoring.
Soon there will be a spreadsheet on the website that shows updated hours! It will be even easier to keep track of the hours you have completed!
Treasurer: Hailey will be collecting membership dues during the member meeting on September 21st. $40 for returning members, and $95 for candidates.

Community Service: Junior achievement: If you would like to sign up for junior achievement please email Ally ASAP! Tutoring: First tutoring session is on September 25th, 7-9pm in WRB room 2006 and 2008. Remember that we require two hours of tutoring for community service so why not try and get it done again early.
Proctoring: We have three exams coming up that provides opportunities for tutoring hours as well. Remember to RSVP on Eventbrite in the zeta iota website. Spots are limited and will fill up fast.

Sorry for the change but now we will be holding a booth and will be doing face painting, body paint and glitter for all the kids at the event to create an interactive activity! Also, we will be creating a team to give back and donate. The minimum donation will be 5$ so just make sure to keep an eye out for the team to join in the next week because Ally will be making the team tonight.
Don't forget to sign up for our next community service event, JDFR One Walk, coming up soon if you can't make the DogFest!
Technology: Remember to use the website to RSVP for the many events we have coming up!
Social Activities: Alexa sent out a Social Activity survey yesterday, so please be sure to fill it out. If you did not receive the survey email, contact Alexa at email@example.com. Also, if you plan on participating in intramurals, create an account ASAP! Players who want to join the team will have to split the team cost of $175.
The intramurals require everyone to pass a quiz. Here is a link that might help people pass! The quiz is only 13 questions.

Junior Achievement: Yay for JA! For those of you that want to fulfill your community service hours this semester through Junior Achievement please email Ally if you would like to participate at firstname.lastname@example.orgIn your email, please let Ally know if you would like to partner up with other BAP member and their name (up to 3 partners) and if you prefer a school or a specific teacher as well! Check the excel sheet attached below of the schools and teachers participating and which one you would like, if not you will be assigned one.

Give Back, Get Back recruitment event with JA
At this event we are offering one hour of community service if you attend and help out so please attend if you can! Also, if you are planning on doing JA and need to fill out the forms Ally will bring printed out forms to the event. Let her know if you will be filling out your forms there. All should try and come out, it will be lots fun and will include snacks :)
DogFest Walk ‘N Roll: Canine Companion Event
Our first community service event this month! This event is on September 18th from 8:30am until 12:30 pm on UNR’s campus. However, for this event we all have to individually register as a volunteer at the link below and then we can go together as a group! September is a very busy month for all of us but I just wanted to provide this fun option!

Social Activities: Intramural sports is underway for the Fall semester! We would like everyone's input for what their preferred sport is for us to participate in this semester. Our options are Volleyball (Season from September 12-29), Outdoor Soccer (Season from Oct 17 - Nov 17), and Basketball (Season from Oct 17 - Nov 17). Please email Alexa at email@example.com with your sport selection. Registration deadlines are fast approaching, so please email her by Friday, September 2 with your selection! We are excited for everyone to get out there and have some fun!
Our first social will be on Tuesday, September 6th from 5:30PM-6:30PM. It is an ice cream social with UNR accounting staff and prospective BAP members. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with members, and get to know prospective members and share with them why joining BAP is a great choice! Stop by for some sweet treats! This social will account for 3 Social Points! We hope to see you there!
Public Relations: Recruitment Week profile pictures and cover photos have been posted on Facebook. Please share, if you can, to spread awareness of the many events we have coming up! Also, attached is a new spreadsheet for study group sign ups!

Only a few updates for you…
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES: Intramural playoffs start tomorrow! Our first game is at 8pm and if we win tomorrow we'll have a game on Thursday at 9pm.

Becker Professional Education has two events coming up in the next few weeks.
The first event is a Mock Exam on Friday, April 22nd beginning at 12:00 PM in room AB 110. This is a beneficial event for all students regardless if they are graduating this Spring or in the future. Becker will be raffling off prizes and answering any questions that you may have. EVERY STUDENT WHO ATTENDS IS ELIGIBLE FOR 50% OFF THE BECKER PROGRAM. The second event is a CPA Day on Wednesday, May 4th beginning at 11:00 AM and going until 2:00 PM. You can stop by during any time of this event and utilize all resources Becker has. EVENTS: Silent Auction items are due on April 18th! Spring Banquet is on April 21st at 6pm! This is a MANDATORY event!
COMMUNITY SERVICE: We have the ACC 201 Review session this Sunday at 7-9 PM on campus in room AB 108. Remember, this will be the last opportunity to receive the 2 required torturing hours you need to stay in good standing with the chapter. Attached is the study guide and practice questions. The practice question answers will be send out by Kevin to the members that are signed up on the Zeta Iota website on Friday. Also check to see if there is any openings for proctoring for Dr. Jackson or Dr. Brooks tests next week.

Just a few updates coming your way…
TREASURER: The Treasury Committee Meeting that was previously scheduled for March 16th is currently being rescheduled due to a conflict with the Grant Thornton Luncheon. Once the date has been selected an email will be sent out.
We will be partnering with BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse on Monday, March 28th at both their Reno and Sparks locations to celebrate Zeta Iota's birthday! All funds will go toward sending members to the Annual Meeting this year. Please see the attached flyers for this fundraiser and spread the word to family and friends in the area.
